We are hiring a Compliance Lead to take ownership of day-to-day statutory compliance across our client base. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with UK accountancy practice experience who enjoys structure, ownership, and responsibility.

The Role

The Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring all clients remain fully compliant across Companies House, HMRC, payroll, onboarding, AML/KYC, agent authorisations, directors’ self-assessments, and the annual accounts coordination process.

You will own compliance execution end to end, tracking deadlines, preparing information, coordinating with accountants producing final accounts, and ensuring nothing is missed.

This is not a training role. Prior UK accountancy practice experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Companies House & Company Secretarial - Maintaining registers, filing documentation with Companies House, and ensuring all filings are processed accurately and on time.
  • HMRC Compliance - Manage agent authorisations and tax registrations.
  • Directors’ Self Assessments - Prepare and manage Self Assessment information packs, retrieving relevant information from all clients, track internal and external deadlines and ensure submissions are made on time.
  • Annual Accounts Coordination - Coordinate year-end accounts preparation with accountants producing final accounts, manage queries and follow-ups during the accounts process, ensure final accounts and Corporation Tax returns are filed.
  • Payroll - Own the payroll function, ensuring payroll is run accurately, and all submissions are made on time.

About You

  • 2+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice (essential)
  • AAT / ACCA part-qualified OR qualified by experience (essential)
  • Strong understanding of Companies House and HMRC processes (essential)
  • Highly organised and deadline-driven
  • Comfortable chasing clients and third parties
  • Confident working independently with clear ownership
